May Favorites!

Good afternoon my loves! I decided to do a May Favorites post since I had some pretty awesome purchases last month. Hopefully I will continue to do a monthly favorites post from here on out. Below is a review, picture, description & link to purchase each item. All pictures in this post are from the retailer that the links are for. I hope you enjoy!

Benefit lollibalm Lip Hydrator

This tinted balm is AMAZING! I really like the lollitint so it was a given that I needed to get its balm counterpart. The color payoff is pretty impressive & the balm is SUPER hydrating. The color is universally flattering & benefit even has a photo on their website showing it on different skin tones (so smart!). I will be collecting the other 3 shades as well. For extra intensity layer the balm over its coordinating tint. I give this a 10 out of 10. It's definitely worth the $18 & I'm obsessed!

Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush

I've had my eye on this brush for awhile after watching so many tutorials on YouTube. My friend Molly who is a MUA swears by it. I purchased it while I was at Mall Of America over Memorial Day weekend & I LOVE it! It's so soft & dense. I like to stipple on the foundation really well then lightly buff for an airbrushed effect. The best part is they are cruelty free & vegan!

Vince Camuto Fiori Perfume

We also went to the outlet mall over Memorial Day weekend & stopped by Vince Camuto. Trust me, I do not need anymore perfume but theirs was $20 off so how could I resist!? I guess they never have perfume on sale (score for me!). I instantly fell in love with Fiori. It's soft & romantic. Plus the bottle is stunning. I will definitely repurchase once I run out.

Fossil Rose Gold Watch

Also while at the outlet mall I stopped by Fossil. I've been dying for a new watch since I haven't worn one in years. I was wanting a rose gold watch with no rhinestones (in fear they'd fall out eventually). This is by far the nicest watch I've owned. My boyfriend only wears Fossil so they were a natural choice for me. Their quality is great, their warranty is even better & I've always received great customer service from them.

Lacoste Essential Cologne (yes, a cologne but I wear it!)

I must have received a sample sprayer of this with an online Ulta or Sephora order. I had recycled the packaging as soon as I got it & put it with the rest of my perfume. I was looking for something small to throw in my make up bag the other day & grabbed this. It smelled a little masculine but nothing too crazy. Well duh, Misha! That's because it's a cologne. I think the scent is absolutely AMAZING & universal. I'm dying to buy a full sized bottle of this & share it with my boyfriend.

I received a travel size of this in last month's Ipsy bag & I'm in love. My highlighted hair is so soft, silky, easy to comb (I usually have to fight with my wet hair) & looks healthy. The smell is amazing too. This is definitely going to be the only type of masque or conditioner I use on my hair. I ordered 4 of these big tubs! For 65% off your order put IPSY in the coupon code at check out now through 6/15/14.

Bed Head Curlipops-A May Favorite!

This item was going to be part of my May Favorites but after the lengthy review I figured it deserved its own post.

We all want gorgeous Victoria’s Secret Angel worthy hair. Now instead of envying those beautiful, messy, sexy, bed head waves we can create them with ease at home! I have naturally curly hair so some of you are probably wondering why would I purchase a curling wand? Well, I like my hair the best with some kind of wave to it instead of stick straight but my natural curls can be so unpredictable. The back always curls more than the front & depending on how my hair wants to act it could dry amazing or look like a wreck (usually the latter). I toyed with the idea of curlers but to be honest they kind of intimidated me & I was worried my hair would turn out horribly wrong.

I’m obsessed with watching Shaanxo on YouTube, I just love her. She recently uploaded a video of her using a curling wand & that’s what finally convinced me I needed one in my life. You can watch her video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZgUrroT9lU . So I busted out my old, hardly used ½” old school curling iron to give it a go. Just as I thought, that darn clip left a crimp mark in my hair (not cute!) & the ½” barrel was just too small for the look I was trying to achieve. So after testing one section I ended up flat ironing my hair. Her video really kept the curling wand in the back of my mind. I was at Target not long after that & saw a Remmington one for around $90 but didn’t think it was worth the price. Not long after I went to Ulta.com & browsed their selection where I stumbled across the Bed Head Curlipops line. Since I wanted lose curls I was drawn to their 1” non-tapered wand & also loved the fact they include a glove so you don’t burn your hand. Of course I did some research on this particular item reading reviews & watching YouTube tutorials before pulling the trigger.

After curling the first section of my hair I kicked myself for not getting one sooner. It’s so easy to use & creates the most beautiful waves. I don’t think there’s a “right or wrong” way to curl your hair just as long as you curl away from your face. I’ve taken varying widths of sections & curled without separating the top & bottom. I’ve also done the same but curled the bottom section of the piece I pulled & then curled the top section. It really comes down to playing with different techniques to see what works best for your hair length & type. I prefer to have the end pointing up whereas my mom & sister prefer to have it pointing down. I have long hair & their hair is about shoulder length so I’m not sure if how you hold it depends on your hair length. My sister has wavy hair & is able to air dry her hair then only curl sections that need a little more oomph. So if you’re wavy I’d try this first before blow drying straight. Just remember to use a heat protectant! After using this product for the past couple of weeks I don’t foresee myself flat ironing my hair again, or at least anytime soon. I give it a 10 & would highly recommend this affordable product! If you own this or purchase it please tell me how you like it <3

St. Baldrick's 3/16/14

I know I promised a post over the weekend but I ended up being super busy & not near a computer. So I apologize my loves. Sunday some of the guys from my boyfriend's fire department did a St. Baldrick's fundraiser. There were other local departments as well & together about 50 heads were shaved for charity. I didn't see any women shaving their heads but there were some small children who did & that melted my heart! The event was held at a bar & grill which made the atmosphere very lively. It was so nice to get together with my boyfriend's shiftmates & their families. Food, booze, good company & raising money for charity, who could ask for a better Sunday? I was too busy socializing & having an amazing Sunday with Justin (my awesome boyfriend) that I didn't take many pictures. However, I have included a picture of Justin with the firemen from his department/shift that volunteered to shave their heads as well as a before & after of Justin. Did any of you attend a St. Baldrick's event?

Justin after! Still handsome :)

Thank you for reading my post. Have a great day everyone.

I'm baaaack!

Well, it's been over 2 years since I've last posted to my blog (so sorry for that!). I am working on getting things up & running where I will have at least one weekly post. Sometime this year I'd also like to start vlogging & start a YouTube channel. So if you have any suggestions on cameras for pictures & videos that would be much appreciated. I still plan on keeping this blog about anything & everything that interests me. If there is a topic you'd like me to blog about or would like me to answer a question I am very open to that. Thanks for joining me again on this journey. Love you all!

Totally not a beauty item but this stuff is delish! It's not out in stores yet but I have my sources :) it's a really yummy dark chocolate with Tabasco sauce mixed in. Some boxes seem spicier than others. What I want to do next time is melt it down & make some hot chocolate. I really hope this product does well & will be released for purchase. I will have a stockpile of it.

Friday night 1/20/12

This was the outfit I wore out on Friday night. I wore: a black tube top, Project 86 (band) zip up hoodie, black leggings & black combat boots that I've had since high school (yes, I take really good care of my shoes). I chose my black Ed Hardy bag because I do not carry any of my Coach bags out to the bars. I had to quickly swap bags. For my make up I wore Urban Decay: shadow primer in Eden, eye shadow in Creep up to my brow bone (black shimmer from the Naked Palette), on the brow bone I wore Verve (light silvery shade from NP2), 24/7 waterproof liquid liner in Perversion with lots of black mascara. For my lips I kept it simple with Lancome's Top Model (my favorite!!). This was a quick picture before I went out so ignore my weird face & semi-awkward pose. I'm not used to wearing such dark make up so I think I look a little weird to begin with.
This is my Friday manicure. I chose a black that had some modest silver shimmers in it. This one is called Little Black Dress by Ulta. I really love their polishes! They have a great variety of colors & all of the ones I have used have gone on so smoothly. If you're looking for a black polish that won't seem too harsh or goth this is a great one to choose. I chose this one knowing I was going to wear Urban Decay's Creep eye shadow.

You can't see my jewelry in the pictures but I like to wear cute things even when my outfit is not so girly. I wore my diamond music note necklace from Zales & a huge/chunky black onyx ring that has 3 diamond owls on the one corner (I'm obsessed w/owls & birds!). I like to mix girly accents with my edgy/rocker type outfits.
